DANCE RECITAL
Mood:  chatty
Topic: RANDOM PERFORMANCES

Hey my faithful (faithful why, I have no clue) readers.  You should be kinda proud of me, I have blogged recently.  YAY!!!

Well, onto the dance recital story!

DANCE RECITAL

So I have been taking dance lessons for like 11 years.  You are probably thinking "HOLY CRAP she hasn't taken dance for only 2 years of her life".  Yeah, I know that seems like a really long time, and it is pretty long but I LOVE DANCE (even though I pretty much suck). Anyway, let me tell you the story.

So this year, I performed 3 dances in the recital.  The types were modern, jazz, and ballet.  Every year, the studio where I take dance has a big recital (that's getting bigger every year).  So I showed up for the recital like 10 minutes late.  I don't know many people in the other classes because Sarah and I are the only people from our school who take classes for people our age.  Anyway, when I showed up everyone was getting ready to perform the opening number (in the opening number, everyone but the adults and the really little kids dance to the same song).  I got there and just in time to get ready for the opening.  We did the opening and went back to the dressing room.  My best friends in dance are Courtney, Courtney, Kelly, Shannon, Mikayla, Bethany, Maggie, Kaity M, and Sarah.  I hung out with them most of the time we had just sitting in the dressing room.  Anyway, my first dance (my modern) was number 11 so I got ready for that.  Then I talked to people.  Then I stretched and broke my toenail on the carpet.  It started BLEEDING.  DUMB TOE!!!  So I put a bandaid on it.  Man that toe hurt.  I resumed my conversations.  Then it was time for our modern dance.  We went out, waited backstage, then it was our turn. Then we all started our dance.  It was going pretty well for me until my bandaid started to fall off of my toe.  When we did this part on the ground, I "discretely" tried to push my bandaid down.  It wasn't overly successful, but my bandaid didn't fall off.  That was good.  Other than that bandaid dilemma, I did really good.  As in I didn't mess up!!  Woo! Yay!! The rest of my class didn't do so well though.  Sarah kicked someone and 2 people kicked Bethany.  Apparently the rest of the people thought it was a train wreck.  I don't really know though.  Then we returned to the dressing room, ate, made random noises.  It was fun.  Maggie stole my precious bottle cap though.  I chased her around the dressing room with a bottle in hand.  It was a funny sight.  I then took a break from chasing Maggie around the dressing room and got my next costume on.  Then soon enough, it was time to leave for my ballet dance.  We danced to PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN.  I <3 that song and that movie.  I didn't <3 the costume though.  My friends said we looked like pirate skanks.  We did.  It's true.  I didn't mess up on this one either.  That made me happy.  We then went back to our dressing room.  Maggie lost my bottle cap.  Luckily my fuse (for those of you who don't know it is a type of drink) was empty.  I got my jazz costume on then.  My friends called this one the JUNO costume because it is really flowey like maternity clothes.

PIANO RECITAL
Mood:  sad
Topic: RANDOM PERFORMANCES

HEY THERE

I HAVE ACTUALLY BLOGGED RECENTLY

I DESERVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE!!

YAY!!!

CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!!

ANYWAY PIANO RECITAL STORY TIME

Piano Recital

So I started taking piano lessons about 4 months ago.  I actually knew how to play piano decently.  I could play with 2 hands (just barely, but that's beside the point).  So my piano teacher said that I could play a classical piece in a recital for her "more advanced" students.  I chose "Minuet in G" by Bach.

I practiced like crazy on this song.  I had it just about perfect.  Not many people could have played it a lot better.  Then came the recital.

It started out ok.  I wasn't too worried because I played the song really well when I was practicing.  I came in and my friend/pianist Nicole was handing out the brouchoures for the recital.  I talked to her then when the recital started we both took a seat in the back.  Nicole played 2nd and I played 4th.  She did very very well.  I said that playing piano that well should be illegal.  Then it was my turn.  UGH! I started and completely messed up the first part.  Then when I moved on to the second part (which starts similarilly to the first part) I accidentally played the first part again (suckilly still, I might add).  After that, I went back to the second part and it pretty much sucked.  Then I missed a repeat.  I continued onto the next few phrases, my fingers still reluctant to move.  I repeated that and it wasn't completely sucky.  I messed that song up so bad.  If you heard it, you would have thought the person playing it was three.  IT SUCKED SO BAD!!!!  I returned to my seat as red as a tomato, or so I felt.

For the rest of the time, Nicole and I judged how illegal each song would be based on how amazingly fast and dexterously the composition required the pianists fingers to be.  This one guy named Keegan earned a triple burning-at-the-stake from me and Nicole.  It was so good it was disgusting.  At least, I had fun talking to Nicole.  Oh, well.  It was only my first piano recital.  And Nicole said it wasn't that bad.  (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS)

ANYWAY....

MANDI OUT

PS I HOPE YOU ALL LOVE MY FONT (IT IS TERMINAL FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO GET THE JOKE IN THAT WORD)!!

LAST MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND CONCERT
Mood:  not sure
Topic: RANDOM PERFORMANCES

So, it was my last middle school band concert.

I was coming home from dance practice, which I had to leave early from.  My dad picked me up 15 minutes late.  I was irritated  Yell.  But not the point.

THE CONCERT

So I scrambled to get ready.  I got to the concert almost ten minutes after I was suppposed to be there.  I didn't get tuned because I left my trombone in the pit, where our jazz band was playing.  So things weren't going SO well.  Then I went out to play for jazz band.

We got out there.  There were no chairs or anything set up.  There weren't enough stands.  The trumpets all had to share one.  Then we started playing.  IT WAS BAD.  We did ok on the first one, except it was way, way, way too slow.  We moved onto the second one, which was a little better.  Then we started playing "When I Fall In Love".  Half of the people came in late.  Then everyone got lost.  We BOMBED it.  That was our last song.  I went to play for concert band.

Concert band was way better than jazz band.  The first song was just the right speed.  The brass was pretty good, especially the trombones (if I do say so myself).  Then the next 2 songs went as planned.  I didn't mess up on either of them.  Then "Chant Rituals".  Oh my flaberjingling fairy godmother!!  We started.  The low brass rocked! And I am not just complimenting myself.  This person who was supposed to lower the curtain said that was the best low brass section she had heard in a very long time and that she got chills just hearing us.  AND SHE PLAYS CLARINET!!!!!  The rest of the band was really good, too.  That was probably the best song I have ever played with our concert band ever!

The rest of the bands did pretty good.  I had to leave before I could hear the high school band or the high school flute choir.  Oh well.

I was happy.

MANDI OUT.

CEDAR POINT!!!!!!!! PART II
Mood:  energetic
Topic: SWEEKIN AWE-ALL BANDTRIPS

OK, first sorry for not blogging in so long.  I have just been very busy (I will write about those distractions above).

Now onto the show, but I guess in this case it is a story.

Sunday

Again, as a sacrifice to my roommates, I took a shower in the morning.  Then we all get ready and go down to breakfast, without our roomkeys (AHHH!!!).  So we go down to breakfast.  I forget my meal voucher thing and decide to go back up to our room.  But wait, there are no roomkeys.  I panic.  I go to my friends and they have to roomkeys, either.  We go find our chaperone and explain our dilemma to her.  She takes us down to the front desk and the nice lady gives us another roomkey.  ALLELUIA!!!!!!  We get into our room.

Then we go to the waterpark inside the hotel.  First, Miranda, Kayla, Melissa, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Jenn R., and I go on your average dark body slide.  Then, we all get in line for this really awesome waterslide.  It is like half covered.  First, you get in this little raft thing that has room for 2 people.  This raft thing is sitting on a treadmill-type conveyor belt.  After you get in the raft, the guy at the top waits for the people before you to get to the bottom of the slide and then the treadmill-type thing starts moving, AS FAST AS YOU CAN IMAGINE.  It shoots you up and over this huge hill.  For a single second, you and the raft are in mid-air, weightless, waiting to hit the bottom of the slide.  Then another conveyor belt-treadmill-type thing pulls you up another hill.  The slide becomes covered as you go around a big turn.  Another drop comes, not as steep as the first, but still leaving you momentarilly weightless in the air.  You are pulled up another hill on a treadmill-thing.  Another turn comes, it gets dark and suddenly you are faced with light and another drop comes, the steepest one yet, and you are again weightless.  Another treadmill-thing, the biggest turn yet, water in your face, and you are jolted to a stop.  This waterslide was THE AWE-ALL-EST, GREATEST, STEEPEST, GREATEST (again) WATERSLIDE EVER CREATED.  Then we, (everyone except Sarah and Miranda who are still in line for the zip coaster, see above) grab tubes and go on your traditional, have to have at any waterpark, dark water slide with tubes.  Then we go to the otherside of the waterpark and get in line for one of those toilet-bowl body slides where you go down the slide, spin around this thing that looks like a toilet bowl then fall down the hole in the middle.  This slide rox (so much it gets an X).  Then we check out the wave pool and go get in line for another toilet-bowl type slide, but this one has a tube.  We wait in line for this one for probably a very worthwhile hour.  On this one, we go down a dark tube, take a big turn, big drop (weightless, you almost pee in your swimsuit, type drop), then we come into the big toilet bowl part, go around it twice, go down the hole in the middle, go into another dark tube, experience another weightless drop, then we come out of the tube and the slide is over (why does it have to end? (sob, sob) Frown).  Then we go into the wave pool and meet Sarah and Miranda.  I go see Megan, who is deeper in the wave pool, come back and see Kayla with some random guy who she picked up, and the rest of my friends are tackling each other.  The guy looks scared of Kayla.  I join in the tackling.  Then we all split up.  Me and a few other people go in the lazy river.  We split up even more.  I go on a few more water slides with Kaitlyn.  We all meet up again and go back up to our rooms.

Sarah and Jenn R. go shopping with a few other people.  Kaitlyn and I go over to Nicole's room along with our hotel neighbor, Jenn G.  Jenn watches the Pens game while Nicole, Kaitlyn, and I talk about highly random things which I do not currently remember.  Kaitlyn and I decide to throw yogurt covered raisins from my trail mix at Jenn  She gets annoyed and returns the fire.  I get a bruise under my eye, FROM A RAISIN.  Kaitlyn and I do not give up.  She tackles Kaity, takes my trail mix, and DUMPS THE WHOLE BAG OFF OF THE BALCONY.  GRR, JENN G, GRR.  Nicole's room mates walk in and they do not like the noise so we move back to my room.  Jenn continues to tackle Kaitlyn.  It was funny.  She has her slippers.  Jenn picks them up and makes some funny kung-fu-type-noises then goes "YOU ARE NO MATCH FOR MY KUNG FU" to Kaitlyn, while making some funny Kung-Fu movements with her slippers in hand.  Then she goes all "KUNG FU" on Kaitlyn.  Meanwhile Nicole is filming this.  HILARIOUS!!!!!!!  Sarah and Jenn come back up and Sarah convinces like 5 people to let her do their make-up.  They go up to Melissa and Kayla's room.  I briefly visit them.  I return to my room with Afton and Nicole.  Me and Afton throw ice off of my balcony while Nicole is watching the video of Jenn and Kaitlyn.  Some guys down on the sidewalk try to it on Afton and she procedes to yell "STRANGER DANGER!!!! STRANGER DANGER!!!!" while she wears her vampire teeth that she got from the arcade.  IT WAS FUNNY!!  Sarah, Jenn R., and Kaitlyn come back to our room, all looking like clones of Sarah, I shudder at the thought  Yell.  We get ready to go on a dinner cruise on Lake Erie.

Everyone goes down to the lobby and then we all board the busses.  We eat a fairly good dinner.  Then go out on the deck of the boat.  It is pretty cold and very windy.  Good thing I have my trusty band hoodie.  Eventually, people slowly drifted off of the deck to the warm inside.  After about a half hour the only people who had stayed out on the deck for the whole time were Mike and his girl friend, Sean, Melissa, Kaitlyn, and me.  Eventually Kaitlyn went in because she "got cold".  Wimp (just kidding).  Kaitlyn and Jenn G. occasionally visited Me and Melissa on deck.  Mike and his girlfriend went in after a while.   Sean was outside most of the time but occasionally went in to talk to some of "his friends".  Sean is great, though.  When it was just Melissa, me and him, he did some crazy stuff.  First he started rolling around on the deck.  Then, he........well, he was just Sean.  Then Kyle came out and tied him to a pole on the deck of the boat.  MELISSA GOT A PICTURE.  He looks possesed.  Our band director's wife came out, saw Kyle tying Sean to the pole(who for some reason was completely willing to be tied to a pole), and was like "YOU UNTIE HIM RIGHT NOW!".  Kyle was just like "I am almost done, then I will untie him."  She was nervous.  I personally enjoyed it.  Anyway, Me and Melissa, THE LONE SURVIVORS OF THE LAKE ERIE DINNER CRUISE.  I like that title  Cool.  We went back to kalahari.

My friends and I had planned a big party for that night, but my friends were so boring they couldn't entertain an easily-amused five-year-old.  So we went around and got pictures.  Then my friends excitement levels took a turn for the worst.  I swear Sarah's makeup seeped into their brains and turned them into temporary Sarah clones.  They were boring, obsessed with their phones and cameras, monotonous, and most of all ANNOYED BY MY HAPPINESS AND HYPERNESS, just like Sarah.  It bothered me so much  Yell.  Eventually the make-up wore off though and they were back to themselves soon.  TOO BAD IT WAS MIDNIGHT.  We then went to sleep.

Monday

So me, Sarah, Kaitlyn, and Jenn R. started the day the same as the other days (We remembered our keys THIS time.) I got a smoothie for breakfast.  It was yummy.  After we ate, we went down to the lobby.  A bunch of my friends went back to the water park for a few hours.  I went shopping with Miranda and Kayla.  I have to admit it was kind of boring.  So I texted Afton and asked her where she was.  She told me she was on a couch in the lobby.  I went up there, with Miranda and Kayla.  We all talked.  Then Afton and a bunch of other people went downstairs.  I stayed with Miranda and Kayla.  We then went to the stores downstairs.  I did find something in the stores I looked through, a crappy water bottle and a TUBE OF SUGAR.  I use the tube of sugar more than the bottle.  Pathetic, right?  There is a big huge arcade, probably the size of my house near all of the stuff downstairs.  I went to the arcade and found a bunch of people including Afton, Nicole, Shelby, Jenn G, and Sean.  I had way more fun there.  I earnede 36 tickets.  The day before I saw Sean with 2 claw things which were each 25 tickets.  I wanted 2 of those claw things so bad.  I only had enough for 1 though.  I asked people if they had any extra tokens, to play games so I could get more tickets.  If they asked why, I explained my claw dilemma to them.  So when I asked Sean, he said he was broke.  But then he used his tokens to buy me a claw.  It was so nice of him. This left me with one claw thing, and enough tickets to buy another one but I had 11 tickets left.  I couldn't think of what to use those 11 tickets for.  Then Sean comes around and he is like "Anyone have 11 tickets that they aren't gonna use".  So I gave him my tickets.  Sean is great.  Then me and Nicole and Shelby and Sean went over to the indoor playground.  I know you are probably thinking that we are all too old (13 years to be exact) to be going on an indoor playground.  Then me and Nicole got kicked out of the playground for not having sox.  DUMB RULES!!!!!  So me and Nicole left, found Jenn, and then went to the outdoor playground.  It was fun.  We skipped back to the door to get inside and started singing some song.  Then these guys that were hiding near an air conditioner (or something like that) started to try to sing the song we were singing (unsuccessfully, I might add) and then they yelled "ROCK ON DUDES".  We think they were drunk.  We went back inside.  I got ice cream.  It was yummy.  I think the flavor was "FAT ELVIS".  We went back to those random couches where we met Melissa, Kayla, Miranda, and a bunch of other random people from our marching band.  Everyone eventually drifted back to these couches.  We then got our luggage and boarded the busses.  This bus ride was not nearly as fun, everyone was really tired (except me and Melissa, of course).  We watched a video on Mel's iPod and laughed hysterically.  Everyone glared at us.  I am sure they were thinking either "they are ...YAWN...completely crazy" or "WOW" .  We got off the bus.  I went home and slept.

MANDI OUT.

CEDAR POINT!!!!!!!! PART I
Mood:  energetic
Topic: SWEEKIN AWE-ALL BANDTRIPS

Hola mis amigas y otras personas (hi my bffs and other people) (back to english) who for some strange reason actually read my blog.

(to explain topic, sweekin = sweet + freakin, awe-all (all is better than some)

So about 1 week ago, in a far away land called Ohio (OH-HI-O), our band went to invade the small place called the Cleveland-Sandusky Area (it was never the same, i think).  This invasion was completely awe-all for the invaders, for the invadees probably not so much but I wouldn't know.

Friday

We, as in the marching band, boarded the buses at 12:30-ish.  And life was no longer the same (just kidding).  The bus ride itself was so sweeking fun, I made my BFF Kaitlyn spaz by holding a fan up to her ear.  It was gr8.  That was the awe-all-est bus ride in the history of bus rides.  Then we went to the Hard Rock Cafe.  They had awe-all food, and very awe-all decorations.  Then we went to see the CLEVELAND SYMPHONY.  They were really good.  My ears were shocked.  That was over at about 10:15, we were all tired.  YAWN!! We got back to Kalahari, our hotel/indoor waterpark/resort/(well awe-allest hotel ever!) at about 12:00 that night.  This place was awe-all.  It along with the waterpark/resort thing it had an arcade.  Every room had a balcony, fireplace, flat-screen-tv, and well other normal hotel stuff.  IT WAS STILL AWE-ALL THOUGH.  I <3-ed this hotel.  After about 2 hours of screaming about how awesome the room was spying over the balcony divider at the guys, getting caught by the guys, getting 3 showers taken, setting up for tomorrow, and getting in bed we all fell asleep.  That was a long night.

Saturday

I woke up before everyone else in my room (there were 3 other people) at 7 o'clock.  I had decided the previous night to spare the other people and shower in the morning.  So I hopped in the shower (unfortunately, I didn't literally hop Cry).  I was already dressed by the time the rest of my temporary room-mates got up.  Then our chaperone let us out of our room at 8:00, wke e went down to breakfast like 15 minutes later.  I had 2 doughnuts yummm.  We left to go to CEDAR POINT at like 10:00.  Cedar Point was awesome even for the roller-coaster-phobic person, which I most certainly am.  I went on the (huge ginormous ferris wheel which I can't remember the extremely-cheesy name for), BLUE STREAK (a really wimpy roller coaster), KROIKA (a scrambler/paratrooper cross), (an untilt-ey, tilt-a-whirl), THE SCRAMBLER, MATTERHORN (that ride that they have at just about every park, but have no standard name for that spins really fast and the car tilts sideways), (that other no-name ride that just spins really fast and the person on the outside gets completely SQUISHED), CEDAR CREEK MINE RIDE (a roller-coaster type ride that is more jolty than steep), (the spinny-swing ride), THE SPIDER (it wasn't actually called the spider but it is a spider-like as rides can get), and (some indoor ride that was like a dark version of the Cedar Creek Mine Ride but more big turns and less turns).  Now for the story.

Me and my two slightly roller-coaste-phobic friends get lunch.  I set my Mountain Dew down.  I sit down, knock it over, reach to grab it, knock over my friends Mountain Dew, and she flips out about how her feet and legs are soaked.  While I am cleaning up said Mountain Dew (after earning the nickname Mountain Dew Spiller, my friends aren't very creative) a dumb sea gull flies over and poops on my jacket.  I hated sea gulls to begin with.  My friends now say when a bird flies by "MOUNTAIN DEW SPILLER, DUCK! IT'S A BIRD!  DUCK!".  KIND PEOPLE.

LONG DAY, ERG! I FREEZE WITH NO SWEATSHIRT!

MACHO NACHOS

I am eating dinner.  I have a taco.  My other bff Afton comes up to me and my bffs.  We see lady eating MACHO NACHOS.  They had lettuce, jalepeno, olive, cheese, meat, salsa, and tomato.  It was heavenly macho.  (when i am not pressed for time i will upload a pix of the MACHO NACHOS).  So now me and Afton's inside joke is MACHONACHO.   Man those were some Macho NACHOS.

We leave CEDAR POINT at 10:00 PM.  We get back at 10:30, film fake earthquake, and go to bed at 12:00ish.

MANDI OUT (see above for CEDAR POINT!!!!!!!!! PART II.)

Hey my faithful readers,

sorry I haven't updated you, the small group of people who actually follow the ups and downs of my (somewhat) interesting life.

A lot has gone on in the past 15 days.  (Too much to fit in this blog, so see above for futher details)

I shall now continue blogging so that you, my faithful (faithful for what reason I cannot even imagine thinking of) blog readers will not go into further Mandi's blog deprevation (also known as MBD, it is a serious medical condition that if contracted should be immediately reported to a doctor, NOT!).  All because I am such a kind person.

MANDI OUT!!!!!
