JazzBandTour (with no spaces)
Mood:  happy
Topic: Jazz Band

Okay, so today the middle school jazz band went to the elementary schools.  The little kids there scare me.  We played them 5 uberly-awesome songs.  It was fun.  We got out of a whole day of school.

So we got out at 8:25 and went down to the bandroom.  We finished loading up the bus at 8:50 and off we went to the most depressed elementary school in the whole entire world.  I mean they just sat there with this bored look on their faces.  The bus ride was so fun.

Then we went to an okay school way out in the middle of nowhere, aka Hickstown, PA.  They weren't completely bored.  At the end, they even asked us for an encore.  How cool is that.  These little 4th grade and lower kids asked us FOR AN ENCORE.  They may live in Hickstown, PA, but not all of them are complete hicks.  And off to McDonald's we went.

We were so loud on the bus.  Twas unbelieveable.  And then all 20-some band geeks piled into a puny McDonald's.  It was a funny sight.  I got a Big Mac, fries, apple dippers, water and a sundae.  While we were there, this old lady, probably like 85, walked up and she was like "so I guess you are from Marion Center.  I used to teach there once."  And she walked away.  After that "heartfelt, tearjerking conversation".  Just kidding of course.  And then this drummer goes up to this other band chic and he takes her twenty dollar bill.  So she is like reaching for this $20 bill for like five minutes and I go "why don't you just take his food" so she takes his sandwich and fries back to her table.  Then he pretends he wants to trade the $20 for his food.  She walks up and he runs to the bathroom and pretends to flush her $20 down the toilet.  Then he convinces her that he actually flushed it.  And then stupid lends him five more dollars.  Then there was this guy who looked exactly like a hobo, it was freaky.  Then my favorite male band geek is obsessing about how this McDonald's worker "wraps hamburgers like there is no tomorrow."  He then goes up to buy an ice cream cone (something only he would buy) and cinnamon melts.  Well he doesn't have time to eat his ginormous box of cinnamon melts, so he convinces his piano-playing-bff to shove this humungous box of cinnamon melts in her tiny purse.  She smuggled this ginormous box of cinnamon melts onto the bus.

Then the bus ride to the last school of our tour.  OMFG (oh my fairy godmother, yes anna I used your word).  Devin was shooting spitballs at people.  I had to use my music folder as a shield.  Then my fav. male band geek latches a chain purse on his tongue and my saxophone-bff takes a picture.  Then a bunch of sharp turns and flailing limbs later (I mean ubersharp turns and A LOT of flailing limbs), we finally arrived at the final stop of our tour.  These kids, OMFG.  They screamed so loud.  We did the best at this school.  There was this kid who looked like he was drunk or something.  His eyes were all droopy and he was kind of "out of it".  He was funny.  They kept asking us for encores.  TWAS UBERULOUS.  These kids were so hyper.  It was like they went to McDonald's and downed 5 sweet teas, EACH.  And off we went.

We got back 5 minutes before the buses to our homes pulled out so we had to scramble off the bus.  The worst part of today was not being able to go on the playground.  I mean who doesn't like playgrounds.

Well got to go celebrate a job well done.
